A worker at the Puigcerdà waste collection point was admitted to the Cerdanya Hospital this Wednesday after being exposed to a leak of irritating chemical substances.

The incident was caused by a pallet containing various chemical products stored at the facility. Upon detecting the gas emission, emergency protocols were activated to assist the affected person and secure the area.
Two firefighter units were dispatched to the scene. The teams used thermal cameras and gas detectors to locate the exact source of the leak and ensure there were no further health risks.
Once the source was identified, emergency crews ventilated the building by opening the doors and removed the pallet containing the products that caused the intoxication to prevent further incidents.
