Organized by the Casal de l'Espluga, the festival reaches its seventh year by strengthening its focus on true crime. The event aims to explore the fascination with real-life criminal cases through historical research and literary analysis.
The schedule features 17 new book presentations and appearances by renowned authors such as Jordi Sierra i Fabra and Vicenç Villatoro. A unique aspect of the festival is the pairing of literature with DO Conca de Barberà wines, a tradition that sets it apart from other crime fiction events in Catalonia.
“"We don't call it noir but criminal fiction, as we believe this concept better encompasses both noir and detective variants."
Highlights include a guided tour of historical crime scenes by historian Jordi Roca and a dramatized round table featuring the T de Teatre company, focusing on local cold cases and historical events in the Conca de Barberà region.
