The Vilaverd City Council has launched a project to recover the Tòfol gypsum factory, a 19th-century industrial facility in Conca de Barberà that will be opened to the public.

This heritage site, donated to the town in 2025 by Joan Maria and Josep Maria Robusté, is a rare example of gypsum production that still houses its original machinery. The project aims to consolidate the structure and create a new cultural landmark.
While the Diputació de Tarragona has provided 168,000 euros in funding, the council is seeking an additional 98,000 euros to finalize the restoration and ensure the site is fully accessible to visitors.
