The Local Police of Cubelles issued a total of 33 fines during a control campaign for cyclists and personal mobility vehicles (PMVs), conducted from October 5th to 11th, focusing on compliance with traffic regulations.

The most frequent infraction among PMV users was riding without a helmet or other protective gear, resulting in 24 fines, accounting for over 77% of infractions detected for these vehicles. Other fines for scooter riders include carrying more passengers than permitted (2), riding on sidewalks (1), using headphones (1), using a mobile phone while driving (1), driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (1), and driving without the corresponding permit (1). For cyclists, two fines were registered for risky riding behavior.
This campaign coincides with the entry into force, on October 1st, of the new regulation governing the circulation of personal mobility vehicles and motorcycles, which includes the mandatory use of helmets and reflective vests at night for scooters, and riding in the middle of the lane to be more visible for bicycles.
