Forty 3rd-year ESO students from Institut Cubelles participated this Wednesday, November 4th, in a European Parliament simulation held in the Cubelles Town Hall's plenary chamber.

The activity, organized by the Department of European Integration, aims to bring European Union institutions closer to young people and foster knowledge of democratic values and citizen participation. The event concludes prior classroom work.
The Mayor of Cubelles, Rosa Fonoll, welcomed the students, highlighting the importance of dialogue and respect for different opinions. She encouraged the young people to "express yourselves freely, defend your proposals with arguments, and experience this with enthusiasm".
The Councilor for Youth and European Integration, Pau Rodríguez, emphasized that workshops like this foster participation and skills such as oral expression, argumentation, and critical thinking.
During the simulation, students took on the role of MEPs, organized into political groups and committees. They debated topics such as housing access and sustainable mobility, defending proposals and working towards agreements.
