Maritime Rescue teams and the Mossos d'Esquadra rescued a windsurfer near Port Ginesta, Sitges, on Tuesday afternoon after he became stranded due to the severe weather brought by Storm Harry.

The rescue took place on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in the afternoon, when the windsurfer was left adrift near the breakwater of Port Ginesta, in Sitges. According to reports, his board had broken, and the strong current prevented him from returning to shore.
The operation was coordinated by the Barcelona Maritime Rescue Coordination Center, which deployed the Helimer 204 helicopter. Operational teams described the intervention as risky due to the rough sea conditions and the intensity of the wind associated with Storm Harry.

"We reiterate the importance of following official recommendations, not entering the sea or flood zones, and not approaching riverbeds and streams."
