The Vilanova i la Geltrú Local Police launched a training campaign this March in city high schools to raise awareness among young people about community coexistence.

The initiative is part of the Educational Animation Plan (PAE) and involves six local high schools. The main goal is for students to reflect on uncivil behavior and its impact on the community. Sessions led by the Support and Civicity Unit use digital tools like Kahoot to make learning more engaging.
This police unit has been redefined to focus on a community policing model. Their duties include enforcing the Municipal Civicity Ordinance, which regulates issues such as noise, graffiti, illegal street vending, and public alcohol consumption.

"The Unit wants to ensure that citizens can enjoy public spaces with respect."

Officers Adolfo and Núria conduct these sessions, seeking active involvement from students to improve their environment. The Citizen Security department is prioritizing education to prevent future social conflicts.
