The jury of the National Awards for Best Extra Virgin Olive Oils of Catalonia, which took place last Saturday in the regional capital, Les Borges Blanques, determined that all the best oils from large producers originate exclusively from Les Garrigues. This result highlights the superior quality of the extra virgin olive oil produced in the area.

Among the major winners of the day were Cuadrat Valley and Grup Pons, who managed to take home the majority of the awards granted across the different categories. These companies are benchmarks in the production and export of high-quality olive oil.

In addition to the large producers, the competition also recognized the work of other key entities for the local economy. Awards were presented to Raig d'Arbeca, Agroalbium, and several cooperatives in the region, including those from La Granadella, Juncosa, Arbeca, and Castelldans, demonstrating the sector's diversity and excellence.
