The Les Borges Blanques City Council, led by Mayor Josep Farran, has publicly reported that the municipality suffered 44 electricity supply interruptions between September 2022 and January 2026.

Data collected by the council shows that the 44 power cut episodes occurred over a 36-month period, from September 27, 2022, until January 13, 2026. Mayor Josep Farran detailed that while some were brief micro-cuts, others caused more prolonged disruptions, often during peak working hours or early morning.

"We are fighting to put an end to this problem."

The months with the highest concentration of incidents were January 2023, November and December 2024, and March 2025, with three episodes each. The supplier company, Endesa, has attributed these interruptions to the replacement works of the voltage regulator at the Castell Alt substation.
Given the situation, the council has forwarded the detailed list of cuts to the Directorate General of Energy and has scheduled an imminent meeting with the technical managers of Endesa's Ponent area. The City Council also lamented the "defenselessness" suffered by residents and is working to promote joint claims with the affected parties.
