The Cobla Principal d’Olot premiered a short sardana on Saturday at the Hospici courtyard, adapted by Antoni Ros-Marbà from Pau Casals' Oratorio El Pessebre, during the Nativity Scene Exhibition.

The premiere, the result of a project led by the Agrupació de Pessebristes d’Olot i La Garrotxa, took place in front of the city's nativity scene. This adaptation is a very short sardana for flabiol, inspired by the moment in the Oratorio where the contralto soloist proposes dancing a sardana.
The event, which had been postponed since Saint Stephen's Day due to heavy rain warnings from Protecció Civil, featured the cobla's flabiol soloist, Raquel Carrera, as the protagonist of the premiere.

The event served to recall Pau Casals' historical relationship with Olot, which was proclaimed the Heir City of the Sardana in 1968 thanks to the influence of local musicians.

The musical day began with the Exhibition Hymn, an adaptation of the Gloria from the Pastorets d’Olot, in the musical version for cobla by the master composer and director Lluís Albert Ribas. The sardana Pastors a Betlem (1956) by the Garrotxa composer Ramon Oliveras was also recovered. Finally, the event concluded with the performance of Olot, capital de la sardana by Pau Vila.
