The educational project, developed during the 2025-2026 academic year, has been honored by the Department of Education and Vocational Training for its pedagogical quality and community impact. The distinction validates the collaboration between the music school and the local primary education centers: Escola Puig d’Arques, La Salle Cassà, and Escola l’Aldric.
The "Audicions Musicals Escolars" originated from initiatives by teachers and management teams at Cassà's schools many years ago. Subsequently, the Pere Mercader Municipal Music School joined the project to take on pedagogical coordination, provide training musicians, and offer its facilities and specialized resources.
This collaboration enables the design of a continuous pedagogical line throughout primary education. Each year, students aged 6 to 12 have the opportunity to experiment with different instrument families during school hours, with the involvement of 8 training musicians from the Music School and the tutors and music teachers from the primary schools. Between 40 and 55 hours of direct action with students are developed per academic year.
This recognition rewards the historical commitment of Cassà's schools to culture and the coordination, dynamism, and specialized support work carried out by the Pere Mercader Municipal Music School to ensure music reaches all children in the municipality with equity and quality.
