The city of Girona saw a significant rise in express rentals during the fourth quarter of 2025, as 36% of available homes were leased in less than a day.

According to data from the real estate portal Idealista, Girona now shares the top spot in Spain with Barcelona. This figure represents a seven-point increase compared to the same period in 2024, when the rate stood at 29%.
The demand in the Girona market far exceeds the Spanish national average of 15%. Other cities experiencing this trend include Vitoria at 30% and Lugo at 26%, while major hubs like Madrid and Valencia maintain a lower rate of 11%.
Across the Girona province, 19% of rental properties found tenants within 24 hours. Although high, the current city rate is still below the record 48% seen in the third quarter of 2024.
