The city of Girona will host a new edition of the Golden Elephant International Circus Festival from February 26 to March 2, establishing itself as a European hub for discovering new talent.

The event, now in its 13th year under the direction of Genís Matabosch, will return to the Camp de Mart de la Devesa. The main tent, seating over 2,300 people, will host 14 performances featuring both classic disciplines and avant-garde acts never seen before in Western Europe.
Highlights include a hair-suspension aerial ballet by Mexican artist Lucero Méndez and the cross-flying trapeze by the Chilean troupe The Flying Maluenda's. The Shaanxi Acrobatic Art Troupe from China will also perform complex balance routines on cylinders.
Since its inception in 2012, the festival has acted as a launchpad for international circus stars, maintaining its strict policy of only showcasing acts that are completely new to European audiences.
