The commissioner for the Rodalies transfer, Pere Macias, has confirmed that 90% of the current speed limitations on Girona rail lines will be lifted starting this April.

These restrictions, resulting from insufficient maintenance by ADIF, have caused significant delays. Macias explained that while the situation will improve significantly this spring, full service normalization depends on completing ongoing infrastructure repairs across the network.

"From next year, Rodalies de Catalunya is expected to manage all lines with a focus on user service."

The transition to Generalitat management aims to replicate the efficiency of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat. This plan includes fleet modernization, with one-third of the trains already updated and new units expected to arrive soon to enhance the passenger experience in the Gironès area.
