The Girona City Council and the University of Girona have launched a telephone survey this February to detect experiences of discrimination among the city's residents.

The study is conducted by the Applied Social Sciences Research Group at UdG and aims to provide data for municipal policies on equality and social welfare. This initiative is part of the European project Commit to Rights, funded by the European Commission.

"This study should help us detect situations that are invisible and design public policies better adjusted to real needs."

Calls will continue through March and are strictly anonymous. Officials emphasized that no sensitive personal data, such as ID or bank details, will be requested. The results will be used for statistical purposes to enhance public services and social coexistence in Girona.
