The Girona City Council has reached an agreement with booksellers and florists to temporarily move the Sant Jordi festival stalls to Sant Francesc Avenue due to ongoing works in Plaza Catalunya.

Structural repairs in Plaza Catalunya and safety concerns raised by the Municipal Police regarding Nou Street have necessitated a redistribution of the event's layout. The goal is to keep the celebration in the city center while ensuring public safety on April 23rd.

"The strength of this Sant Jordi is that it has been agreed upon in the Girona way, listening to everyone."

Gemma Geis · City Councilor for Economic Promotion
Professional stalls will be concentrated along Sant Francesc Avenue and near the Pont de Pedra. Meanwhile, social organizations will be relocated to Pompeu Fabra Square and Rambla de la Llibertat. The local government will evaluate the success of this temporary setup after the festivities.
