The Mayor of Girona, Lluc Salellas, announced on March 18 that the city will place information signs in the Vista Alegre neighborhood following reports of intentional dog poisonings.

Local authorities confirmed that the Girona City Council is not responsible for any chemical discharge in the area. The incidents occurred near Vista Alegre Park and the banks of the Onyar river, where four dogs have been affected by toxic substances in the past week.

"Since I became aware of these cases yesterday, we verified that the Council is not responsible for any chemical dumping, we expressed our regrets to the owners, and we will install informative signs."

Veterinary reports suggest the animals ingested rodenticide. One dog has died and another is in serious condition. Residents have expressed frustration over previous similar cases and are considering legal action to ensure a full investigation into the source of the poison.
