The current mayor of Girona, Lluc Salellas, has announced his intention to run again in the municipal elections of 2027, leading the Guanyem Girona candidacy.

The confirmation was made public this Saturday during an event held at the Jardins de la Infància, where Salellas outlined the challenges and future of the city. With this decision, the Girona mayor plans to conclude an eight-year cycle at the helm of the city council, as he has stated he would not seek a third re-election.
Lluc Salellas became mayor of Girona after the 2023 elections. On that occasion, his candidacy for Guanyem Girona secured the investiture thanks to an agreement with Junts and ERC, who combined their votes to make him mayor on June 17, 2023.
