The used car market in Girona has seen a 10% decline during the first two months of 2026, with a total of 5,596 transactions recorded.

According to data from Ganvam and Faconauto, February alone saw 2,986 sales in the region, marking a 3.7% decrease compared to the same month last year. This trend contrasts with the national Spanish market, which experienced a slight growth of 1.3% in February.
A significant highlight is the 43.2% growth in sales of vehicles less than a year old, driven by car rental companies updating their fleets for the Easter season. Conversely, older vehicles over 15 years old have seen their market share shrink, accumulating a 5% drop so far this year.

"Encouraging the removal of the oldest and most polluting vehicles would help reduce the average age of the fleet, providing significant benefits for road safety."
