Spar Girona lost the first game of the EuroLeague play-in series against Fenerbahçe with a final score of 87-69 this Wednesday in Istanbul.

Despite missing key player Marta Canella, Roberto Íñiguez's team stayed competitive for much of the game. Bibby and Jocyte led the scoring for the visitors, using three-pointers to keep the score close against the reigning champions.
The Turkish side eventually dominated the paint, with Meesseman and Rupert proving too strong for the Girona defense. A decisive run in the third quarter allowed Fenerbahçe to pull away after Girona had narrowed the gap to just three points.
The series now moves to Girona, where the second game will be played at the Fontajau arena next Wednesday. Before that, the team faces a top-tier domestic league match against Perfumerías Avenida on Saturday.
