The Civil Protection of the Generalitat has declared the alert for the Special Emergency Plan for Floods in Catalunya (INUNCAT) over, as the Meteorological Service of Catalunya has ended its warnings for rain intensity. No major incidents have been reported due to this episode of rain and hail, beyond isolated service disruptions on Rodalies commuter trains.
Currently, train circulation on the RL4 line of Rodalies remains interrupted between Calaf and Manresa. Alternative road transport has been arranged for affected passengers, according to Rodalies. No roads are currently affected by the situation.
The most significant rainfall records include 78.7 l/m2 in Montsec d’Ares, 58.5 l/m2 in Sant Salvador de Guardiola, 54.6 l/m2 in Das, and 50.2 l/m2 in Santa Coloma de Farners.
The Catalan Water Agency (ACA) reported around nine in the evening that river and stream flows in the northern zone of Girona and in Central Catalunya were normalizing, thus closing hydrological warnings for the regions of Gironès, Selva, Osona, and Pla de l’Estany.
Between midday on Thursday and 8 AM this Friday, the emergency number 112 received 410 calls, which generated 182 operational files for paramedics, police, and firefighters. The regions with the most calls were Vallès Oriental (34.72%), Bages (13.61%), and Selva (10.56%). The Emergency Medical System (SEM) did not have to provide any assistance related to this episode.
The Generalitat Firefighters responded to 218 calls for services related to the storms from midday Thursday to Friday morning. Most interventions were for flooded ground floors and streets, blocked drains, fallen branches and trees, and issues with public street furniture such as wiring or lampposts. The busiest period was between 6 PM and 8 PM on Thursday, with 110 calls.
Firefighters also monitored lightning strikes and responded to several vegetation fires, such as those in Cabanelles (Alt Empordà) and La Llacuna (Anoia), which are now stabilized.
