Cesc Cornet (Anglès, 1979) presents a literary proposal that explores the concept of coincidence from a dark perspective. The novel, now available in bookstores, starts with a strange car accident, the disappearance of presenter Elvira Minota, and the discovery of a corpse at the home of surgeon Jordi Mauler.
“"Whenever we talk about coincidences, they are good, but I wanted to write a book where the coincidences were macabre."
The author, a recognized enthusiast of the noir genre and televised 'true crime', insists on the need to challenge the reader. For this reason, he aims for his plots to be very cinematic and documents himself thoroughly, using real locations for his invented characters.
“"I prefer to kill a beloved character and have the reader get angry than have them get bored."
Cornet, who previously published titles such as #FinsAquí and Vides en cercle, is already working on a new project. This upcoming work, scheduled for 2027, will be a noir novel written in the feminine voice and first person, set in the region of la Garrotxa, specifically in Santa Pau, la Fageda, and El Collell.
