The first premiere will take place on Sunday 14 at noon with The Mysterious Tales of the Apple Tree, a Czech stop-motion animation film. The screening, recommended for children aged six and up, will be accompanied by a participatory show led by the Kinosaure team.
The plot follows siblings Tom, Susanna, and Derek, who visit their grandfather after the loss of their grandmother. Through the tales narrated by Susanna, inspired by the writer Arnos Goldflam, the family discovers how imagination can help heal sadness and restore the warmth of home.
“"The work is melancholic, but very hopeful; it teaches you how to manage death thanks to fantasy, imagination, and memories."
Making a thematic leap, on Thursday 18 at 8:15 PM, Cabrales, el quesu will premiere, a documentary directed by Pau de la Sierra. The film focuses on the history and current status of this Asturian cheese, crafted artisanally for centuries.
“"These audiovisual documents are the memory of a way of doing and living that has already disappeared."
The director, who lived for almost three years in Arenas de Cabrales, interviewed dozens of shepherds and cheesemakers to capture the memory of a way of life. The project, initially planned as a short film, grew to 95 minutes, emphasizing the need to keep traditions alive.
