The Lluçanès Mancomunitat has unanimously approved the purchase of Torre Malla in Prats de Lluçanès for 290,000 euros, designating the historic building as the future County Council headquarters.

The administrative process began this Tuesday with the goal of centralizing regional services in the heart of the county's capital. The acquisition will be funded through a combination of internal resources, long-term credit, and expected grants from the Diputació de Barcelona.

"It was an opportunity to maintain this building properly and make it public, before someone turned it into a private house or a restaurant."

Carles Banús · Manager of the Mancomunitat
The Torre Malla is a notable modernist structure from the early 20th century. After serving as a private residence, a bank office, and a community center, it will now undergo phased renovations. The first stage of construction is expected to start on the ground floor by the end of 2024.
