The action, which has an estimated duration of two and a half months, focuses on replacing the main pipeline that supplies water to this part of the municipality. The works will affect key points such as the Capaspre stream (riera), Ramon Llull street, and the Hortsavinyà road.
In total, 500 meters of 300-millimeter diameter cast iron piping will be installed. Although the work will primarily take place on the road surface, some sections will also involve interventions on the sidewalks.
To guarantee supply and avoid potential water cuts to tourist establishments, provisional pipes are planned to be installed while the old network is removed and the new one is laid. The Calella City Council has warned of possible punctual and intermittent traffic disruptions.
The project has been awarded for a total amount of 327,719 euros (VAT included) and is financed by European Next Generation funds, within the Sustainable Tourism Plan in Destination. This improvement adds to actions carried out last year, when Calella allocated 755,000 euros to renew network elements and implement digital remote reading in the tourist area.
