Imatge genèrica d'una reunió política o d'un debat sobre finances en un entorn institucional.
Former Minister Jaume Giró and several local leaders of Junts per Catalunya, particularly in the Maresme region, have publicly supported accepting the new financing system negotiated by the PSOE and ERC, despite the party's official opposition.
The defense of a “step-by-step” approach, articulated by former Minister of Economy and Finance, Jaume Giró, has resonated within the municipal sphere of JxCat. After Giró argued that if the new financing implies an improvement for Catalonia, the party should not oppose it, criticism of the leadership now stems from local officials rather than the executive committee, following the last congress held in Calella.

"Catalonia has always advanced step by step; it has never advanced on an 'all or nothing' basis."
The new financing system, which is expected to provide 4.7 billion euros more annually to Catalonia, has caused discomfort among municipal officials who disagree with Junts' frontal opposition. Carles Puigdemont's party rejects the model because it is not an economic agreement similar to those of the Basque Country and Navarre, accusing ERC of breaking its promise.

"Politics implies negotiation, and in a negotiation, you can never obtain the totality of what you want. In a negotiation, both parties must be moderately content or reasonably discontent with the agreement reached."
The president of JxCat in the Maresme, Carles Bosch, has been one of the clearest voices in favor of the new system, advocating for “pragmatism and possibilism” on social media, a message supported by former Minister Miquel Buch. Conversely, party spokesperson Josep Rius denounced that “there is no change in the model, but rather the current model is perpetuated.”
