A Rodalies train carrying passengers had to brake suddenly this Friday afternoon near Tordera and Maçanet following a fresh rockslide onto the railway tracks.

The event took place on the R1 and RG1 line section, connecting Maresme and La Selva, and has sparked indignation among Renfe workers. This exact spot had previously seen a rock fall that caused a train derailment shortly before the Gelida accident on Tuesday night.
Train drivers, who yesterday demanded urgent safety improvements to the infrastructure, expressed their frustration that the incident occurred just one day after exploratory runs were conducted by Adif to safely resume circulation.
Although the driver managed to brake in time and no injuries were reported, rail traffic has been interrupted. Technicians from the Administrator of Railway Infrastructures (Adif) have traveled to the site to clear the track and assess the damage.
In the meantime, an alternative road transport plan has been activated between the Blanes and Maçanet-Massanes stations for travelers affected by the service interruption.
