This itinerant production, by Educateatro Producciones, has pitched its tent in Mataró and will offer performances from April 2 to 12. The show reinterprets the well-known story of Pinocchio, adapting it to a circus format that promises to captivate audiences of all ages.
The plot begins after the fairy transforms Pinocchio into a real boy, at which point he decides to fulfill his dream of creating his own circus. In this version, Geppetto becomes the clown, the fairy a trapeze artist, and Jiminy Cricket the ringmaster. However, a spell causes Pinocchio to turn back into a wooden puppet, unleashing an adventure full of humor and action, with the antagonist Chinche Chinchón kidnapping the fairy for her rival circus.
We leverage the power of a universally known character to transform it into a grand itinerant show under the big top.
The show includes tightrope walking, balancing acts, juggling, and acrobatics, all within a format that prioritizes fantasy and the rhythm of a musical, while maintaining the essence of classic circus. This fusion makes Pinocchio's Circus an attractive option for families seeking cultural activities during the Easter holidays.
Performances in Mataró are scheduled for April 2, 3, 4, and 5 at 6:00 PM, and April 12 at 12:00 PM. The show has an approximate duration of two hours, including a 15-minute intermission. It is recommended to arrive 30 minutes in advance, as doors close five minutes before the start. Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office starting one hour before each session.
The tent is air-conditioned, offers a bar-cafeteria service, and has adapted facilities. Furthermore, it is highlighted as an animal-free circus. Children under 24 months who do not occupy a seat do not pay admission, and strollers are not allowed inside the hall, although there is a designated area in the lobby.
