Civil Protection of the Generalitat has activated the INUNCAT plan alert due to the forecast of intense rainfall this weekend, with particular impact on the Maresme coast and pre-coastal areas on Saturday afternoon and evening.

Showers could exceed 20 liters per square meter in 30 minutes, and in some sectors of the eastern half of the region, accumulations of over 60 l/m² in three hours are expected. The Meteorological Service of Catalonia (SMC) anticipates that the most significant precipitation will begin on Saturday at midday.
During Saturday afternoon, showers will affect inland areas, the pre-coastal region, and the coast, concentrating near the coast in the evening. On Sunday morning, showers are still expected along the coast and pre-coastal areas, with a progressive decrease in danger from the morning onwards. The SMC will continue to update the forecast.
Civil Protection recommends that citizens exercise extreme caution, avoid unnecessary travel to flood-prone areas, protect exposed objects and vehicles, and follow official advisories. Caution is advised for road travel, not parking in flood-prone areas or near streams, and not approaching breakwaters, rocks, or promenades. It is reminded not to cross flooded areas on foot or by vehicle and to clean drains and grates.
In case of emergency, contact number 112 can be reached.
