This initiative seeks to enhance support, direct attention, and participation for seniors, offering easier access to municipal activities, resources, and services.
The mayor of Pineda de Mar, Sílvia Biosca, emphasized that the centers should be "open, useful, and vibrant spaces where seniors find information, activities, companionship, and opportunities to continue actively participating in the community."
Animation staff will be responsible for welcoming, guiding, informing about the facilities' operations, and publicizing the cultural, educational, sports, and leisure offerings. They will also act as a direct communication channel for user feedback, collecting initiatives, needs, and suggestions to tailor programming.
Their tasks also include managing registrations, handling phone inquiries, coordinating spaces, supporting associated entities, and assisting in organizing special events.
The senior centers are thus consolidated as spaces for coexistence and social interaction, offering, in addition to scheduled activities, free access areas for reading newspapers, discussions, informal conversations, and internet use, fostering social connections and combating loneliness.
The program includes activities promoting healthy habits, social well-being, lifelong learning, and leisure pursuits, designed to encourage active aging and community participation.
