This summer, Vora Estany in Banyoles commemorates the 25th anniversary of its well-known Metres de Botifarra. This gastronomic offering has established itself as one of the most anticipated activities during summer nights in the capital of Pla de l'Estany, becoming a shared tradition among locals and visitors.
The initiative maintains its original essence: botifarra served by the meter, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a prime location by the water. Enjoying dinner at Vora Estany, especially during sunset, offers a unique perspective of Banyoles, combining scenic beauty with a festive ambiance.
As a notable statistic for this anniversary, it is estimated that approximately 32,500 meters of botifarra have been consumed over these 25 years. This figure underscores the deep-rooted nature of this offering among various generations of customers, making it a key element of the restaurant's gastronomic memory.
To celebrate the milestone, the characteristic playful placemats have been renewed. These elements, which accompany the presentation of the botifarra on wooden boards, include activities such as 'spot the difference,' word searches, and quizzes, inviting diners to eat, play, and laugh.
The new illustrations on the placemats are by Eulàlia Duran, who has brought a contemporary vision while preserving the original spirit. This update adds freshness and creativity to a tradition that remains vibrant.
The Metres de Botifarra at Vora Estany represent a celebration of summer in Banyoles, based on traditional products, shared tables, lake views, and the feeling of long, unhurried nights.
After 25 years, the offering continues to invite diners to enjoy a meal by the Banyoles Lake, whether with friends, family, or colleagues. It is a simple, approachable experience deeply rooted in the region, celebrating a significant anniversary this summer.
