Pere Terra and Xavi Padrós, residents of l'Estany (Moianès), are working behind the scenes at the Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia, providing essential logistical and culinary support to racing teams and renowned chef Nandu Jubany.

Pere Terra, owner of the Restaurant Hostal Grau in l'Estany, is part of the Solbas Motorsport team, handling logistics and camp setup for an Argentinian team competing in the SSV category. Terra previously participated in editions in Morocco and Argentina in 2015.
The other resident from l'Estany, Xavi Padrós, performs the demanding job of being the personal assistant and cook for chef Nandu Jubany, who, despite mechanical issues, continues to cook the traditional paella for the entire caravan. Padrós, a friend of Jubany, was joined last Saturday by another great Catalan chef, Carles Gaig.

"The figures are absolutely astronomical and frightening. Teams like Ford, Dacia, Toyota, or South Racing bring between 150 and 200 people per formation, with trucks and motorhomes."

The work of these assistants, which includes dismantling camps and providing external information to the teams, is crucial for the competitors aiming for the finish line in Yanbu, the starting point on January 3rd. Padrós, with a background in enduro, triathlons, and raids, emphasizes the importance of his role.
