Alcanar celebrates the XIII and XIV Research Works Competition featuring seven academic projects

The event, held at the Trinitari Fabregat Library, recognizes the work of local students on memory, territory, and social challenges.

The Trinitari Fabregat Library in Alcanar will host the awards ceremony for the XIII and XIV Research Works Competition on Saturday, December 20, highlighting the involvement of young people in studying their municipality.

The event, scheduled for 12:00 h, highlights the academic research of students from the municipality of Alcanar and their commitment to historical memory, the territory, and contemporary social challenges. The competition covers the editions corresponding to the years 2024 and 2025.
Four works were presented in the 2024 edition. These include the Analysis of Romanian immigration in Alcanar, by Darius Florin Barsauan; Repression in Alcanar. Fighting silence, recovering memory, by Mariona Caudet Bonfill; Water, a scarce resource, by Naomi Moza; and Education in Alcanar. The Moliner Audí Family (1910-1970), by Núria Maria Ursu.
Regarding the 2025 edition, the competition features three investigations of high local and social interest. They are Women on the pitch. A journey from the history of women's football to Femení Alcanar CF, presented by Berta Agustin Fibla; Plastic recycling: challenges and innovations, by Jordi Ricart Reverter; and The evolution of farming in my town (1936-2025), by Abril Reverter Sancho.
The ceremony will conclude with the presentation of awards for both competitions and the symbolic transfer of the works to the documentary fund of the Trinitari Fabregat Library. This action will allow the documents to be consulted by all citizens, reinforcing the value of knowledge as a collective heritage of the municipality.
