The Alcanar Town Council and local associations are celebrating the 787th anniversary of the Town Charter this Saturday, February 28th, with a series of events at the Civic Center.

The program begins at 9:00 AM with a literary route inspired by the book Jardins Ignorats by Trinitari Fabregat. This walk through the outskirts of the town is organized in collaboration with the Alcanar Hiking Group.
At noon, the community fair will open its doors, featuring local food tastings and a school exhibition about the history of Alcanar and les Cases. Families can also enjoy the puppet show El senyor de les baldufes during the morning session.
The afternoon will focus on local heritage and music. A video compilation of the last 50 years of the town will be screened before the official reading of the Town Charter at 6:30 PM, featuring musical accompaniment by Àgueda Quiles and Víctor Moya.
The celebration will conclude with performances by the Iúbilo Choir and the Alcanar Municipal Band. Commemorative acts will continue on Sunday, March 1st, with a guided visit to the Barberà Valley.
