The town of Alcanar is set to be the cultural and culinary heart of the Terres de l'Ebre region this weekend, featuring the Mantis Shrimp Gastronomic Days and the LoPerkal festival.

Running until March 8th, the gastronomic event involves 47 restaurants across Alcanar, l'Ampolla, l'Ametlla de Mar, and la Ràpita. These establishments are serving specialized menus featuring local seafood paired with DO Terra Alta wines.
On Saturday, March 1st, the counter-cultural event LoPerkal returns to Alcanar in a 'blind' format. The secret location for this artistic performance will only be revealed two hours before the start at 11:30 AM, maintaining its reputation for unpredictability.
Other regional highlights include the final Carnival parades in nearby villages and the screening of the documentary La veu de les muntanyes in Amposta, which explores post-war history in the Maquis territories.
