The Mayor of Amposta, Adam Tomàs, announced that crime rates fell by 8.43% in 2025, bringing the city back to safety levels recorded in 2011.

The annual security report for the capital of Montsià shows a total of 1,357 criminal offenses. This positive trend marks a recovery of pre-pandemic safety standards and reflects the success of recent municipal planning.

"This figure is not a coincidence; it happened because we took action to reverse a complicated situation."

Property crimes decreased by 18%, with commercial-related offenses dropping by over 65%. Conversely, traffic offenses rose by 22%, which authorities attribute to increased surveillance by the Mobility Unit and new radar controls.
The Local Police force has grown to 44 officers, the highest number in its history. New investments in 2025 included vehicles, taser devices, and improved station facilities to enhance public safety and coordination with Mossos d'Esquadra.
