The Local Government Board of Amposta has approved the contracting of an integrated service for the Municipal Cemetery, with a budget of 450,000 euros for four years.

This decision, made on Monday, May 4, marks the first time the Amposta Municipal Cemetery will have comprehensive management including conservation, maintenance, cleaning, custody, and administration. The goal is to ensure constant upkeep of the facility, following a decade of roof repairs and facility improvements.

"It will be the first time the Municipal Cemetery has an integrated service that should allow for constant maintenance of this municipal facility after 10 years of roof repairs and facility improvements."

The new contract, with a base tender budget of 450,000 euros for a four-year period, incorporates several significant improvements. These include an increase in materials available to users, comprehensive maintenance actions for the space, painting work, improvements to paving and sidewalks, and the renovation of existing furniture.
Furthermore, an extension of public opening hours by an additional hour is planned, along with the implementation of a permanent 24-hour maintenance service to address any incidents. Concurrently, the City Council is processing the award of a new perinatal grief space, an additional block of columbariums, and a project for the installation of previously non-existent storm drains.
