The Amposta Municipal Center will host the screening of the documentary La veu de les muntanyes on Friday, February 27, focusing on the repression of rural workers in Castelló.

Produced by Directa and Sistema del Solar, the film investigates the state-sponsored murders of 'masovers' (rural tenants) accused of aiding anti-Francoist guerrillas. Historian Joan B. Beltran Reverter will introduce the 50-minute piece, which sheds light on decades of silenced history.
The documentary uses official archives and family testimonies to reconstruct cases of extrajudicial executions. It estimates that approximately 8,000 people were killed by the dictatorship's forces for their involvement with the maquis resistance movement.
The project also emphasizes the crucial role of women in these support networks. The event is organized by the Tarambana association with the collaboration of the Amposta City Council and the Memorial Democràtic.
