The judicial ruling has caused strong discontent in the capital of Montsià, as the individual, accused of intimidation, threats, and assault with a bladed weapon, has been released without any additional measures, neither judicial nor psychiatric. The mayor has described the situation as a "judicial problem" and pointed out that aggressors "enter through one door and leave through the other."
In a video shared on social media, Tomàs stated that the council "is outraged, just as you are," and criticized the lack of psychiatric care for the accused. "This generates indignation as a society," he affirmed.
Faced with this situation, the Amposta City Council will consider the possibility of becoming a private prosecutor in the case, a measure that has already been contemplated in similar circumstances. The objective is to "convey the need to make changes in our" judicial "system," as stated by the mayor.
