The Ulldecona Town Council Plenary has approved the tender for a 906,740.71 euro project to repair about twenty rural roads damaged by the DANA severe weather event in October and November 2024.

This investment, considered the largest economic resource allocated to rural damage since 2018, will be financed by a 50% subsidy from the Ministry of Territorial Policy, under the aid for areas severely affected by a civil protection emergency (ZAGEPC). The Diputació de Tarragona also supports the processing.

"After the various episodes of intense rain, floods, and severe weather events experienced from 2018 to the present, this is the file with the most economic resources."

Núria Ventura · Mayor of Ulldecona
The Mayor of Ulldecona, Núria Ventura, emphasized that these extraordinary resources will allow for the repair of damaged municipal infrastructure and its adaptation for new emergency situations. The goal is to recover the municipality's road network, increasing safety in the rural area and guaranteeing optimal mobility.

"With this subsidy, corresponding to the 2024 DANA, plus the nearly 300,000 euros invested last year, and the huge repair task carried out by the Generalitat since DANA Alice, we are taking a crucial step towards total recovery."

Núria Ventura · Mayor of Ulldecona
The work will focus on two main areas of the extensive municipal district of Ulldecona: the northern zone (including Barranc de Cocó, Cantallops, and Valentins) and the southern zone (such as Bassotes, Nacaldés, and the AP7 vial).
