Historian and museologist Àngel Pascual, who has eight years of experience at the center, takes over the direction of the Museu de la Mar de l'Ebre in La Ràpita to drive a new phase starting in 2026.

Pascual, a native of La Ràpita specializing in heritage and museology, has served as the technical manager of the museum since 2018, actively participating in the recovery and dissemination of the maritime heritage of the Ebre coast. He holds a degree in History from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili.

"museums are a secular temple of the 21st century, based on science, knowledge, and rigor. They are the space that helps us understand who we are, where we come from, and what our environment is."

Àngel Pascual · Director of the Museu de la Mar de l'Ebre
His project is based on solid scientific discourses, presented visually, attractively, and experientially, to connect with diverse audiences. The goal is for the citizens of La Ràpita to feel represented and proud of their maritime, natural, and historical identity.
This new vision includes integrating technology, educational activities, and cultural proposals to revitalize the facility beyond permanent exhibitions. In the medium term, within a four or five-year horizon, Pascual aims for the museum to be included in the Museum Register of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
