Algerri celebrates 2026 Winter Major Festival with four days of culture and tradition

The program, mainly taking place at the Local Social La Penya, includes concerts, popular meals, cinema, and theatre until February 3.

The residents of Algerri (Noguera) will celebrate their traditional Winter Major Festival from Saturday, January 31, until Tuesday, February 3, 2026, featuring a wide range of activities for all ages.

The festival kicks off on Saturday, January 31, in the afternoon with children's entertainment “La Festa dels Colors”, led by Marieta Voltereta. In the evening, the Associació de Joves d’Algerri will organize a popular dinner, followed by a music session featuring DJ Kylans, DJ Eric Mass, and DJMangs.
Sunday, February 1, will feature more traditional events, including the Missa Major (Major Mass). This will be followed by a vermouth with an acoustic concert by musician Christian Modol. In the afternoon, the group Cocktail Elegant will offer a concert and dance session at the Local Social La Penya.
The program continues on Monday, February 2, the day of the Candelera (Candlemas), with a mass in its honor. In the afternoon, children can enjoy a cinema session featuring the film Lilo i Stitch.
The closing ceremony of the Major Festival will be on Tuesday, February 3, the day of Sant Blai (Saint Blaise). After the religious service, the theatre group Lo Riu will perform the play Quan ell és ell… i ella. All activities, except the masses, will take place at the Local Social La Penya.
