Bellcaire d'Urgell has hosted the third edition of Festaire, a circus festival that has filled the town with shows and workshops for all ages, also serving as a tribute to former mayor Jaume Montfort.
The town of Bellcaire d'Urgell has transformed into a grand stage this weekend with the celebration of Festaire, an event dedicated to circus arts. Co-organized by the city council and the company Improvisto's, the festival has offered a variety of activities including juggling, acrobatics, humor, and clown shows.
Activities began with a circus tricks workshop that gathered about fifty children and their families. Subsequently, the inaugural show, The Flamingos, by Los Herrerita, presented juggling and unicycle acts in the open-air arena, captivating the audience.
“
"Circus is the most eclectic performing art there is. We understand that all shows are for all audiences due to their technical difficulty."
The festival has also served to pay tribute to Jaume Montfort, who was mayor of Bellcaire d'Urgell for eleven years and recently passed away. According to the organizers, Montfort was the main promoter of Festaire three years ago, and his commitment to the event has been key to its success.
“
"He was the one who decided to bet on Festaire three years ago. Seeing the result, we are very happy to have listened to him. Our intention is to continue celebrating it in his honor and we are committed to making the festival grow a little more each year."
The organization expects to maintain last year's figure of 3,500 visitors, while monitoring weather conditions. In case of rain, the shows would be moved to the sports hall, ensuring the continuity of the program.
