The plenary session of the Balaguer City Council yesterday unanimously approved a plan to promote the construction of new sports facilities in the area of the former Inpacsa, responding to demands from local clubs.

The proposal, initially put forward by the Junts and Treballem per Balaguer groups and later joined by ERC, received support from the governing team of the PSC and other parties represented in the Paeria. This agreement follows a joint statement from 16 sports clubs in the capital of La Noguera highlighting the lack of adequate facilities for their activities.
The approved text mandates the city council to develop a strategic plan for sports facilities. The aim is to foster the creation of new infrastructure, such as a sports track, a multi-purpose sports hall, a heated swimming pool, and a football field.
Furthermore, the plenary unanimously passed a motion presented by ERC to demand improvements to the postal service, calling for a quality service.
