The initiative, named Joëlette Ponent-Muntanya per a Tothom, aims to integrate inclusive excursions as a regular activity in the Lleida landscape. This proposal arose from the need to create a stable offering to bring mountains closer to everyone, as no similar project existed in the plains of Lleida.
“"We want inclusive excursions to be part of the usual landscape, not something occasional."
The project's debut took place last Sunday in the Serra de Bellmunt-Almenara, where about sixty people, including hiking clubs, schools, high schools, and associations, participated in the first outing. With the support of the Enreda't entity, a pioneer in inclusive hiking, two Joëlette chairs were used, which are single-wheel devices that facilitate movement on trails.
During the excursion, two users with reduced mobility were able to reach emblematic points, demonstrating that with collective help, limits can be overcome. The promoters of Joëlette Ponent have expressed their desire to organize more routes, increase the number of volunteers and chairs, and continue promoting the idea that mountaineering is an experience best enjoyed as a team.
The entity was officially presented on Friday the 10th at the regional council of Noguera. The event included the screening of the documentary Enredats al Balandrau and served to outline the project's objectives, as well as to highlight the commitment of institutions to consolidate a stable network of inclusive hiking in Lleida.
