The municipality of La Pera will implement a new waste collection system before the end of the year, including door-to-door collection and closed container areas, to comply with Law 7/2022.

This change responds to the need to establish efficient collection models that allow user identification, as stipulated by Law 7/2022. Consequently, current free-access container areas will disappear, and waste will only be collected either door-to-door or in secured areas accessible by card.
A study by the Consell Comarcal has determined the optimal model for the municipality. In La Pera, Púbol, and Riuràs, collection will be door-to-door. In contrast, Pedrinyà and scattered settlements will have closed container areas monitored by cameras. Businesses, as large waste producers, will also have the door-to-door service.
For the door-to-door system, each household will receive two bins: a brown one for organic waste and residual waste, and a grey one for paper, glass, and packaging. These bins must be placed on the street in front of the house daily between 8 PM and 10 PM and brought back in by early morning. Collection will not occur on Saturdays. Participation is mandatory, and non-compliance may result in fines.
The Town Council will soon announce the dates when residents can collect their bins at the Local Polivalent (Multi-purpose Centre). Residents in villages with door-to-door collection will have access to an emergency container area at the Polivalent's car park for exceptional needs.
The bins and cards will be personal and identifiable, allowing for fair waste fees, where those who generate more waste pay more, as dictated by law. The mobile recycling point will continue to operate on the second Wednesday of each month at the Polivalent.
