The Group of Representatives of the Elderly of Pallars Jussà has launched the 'Living Meals' initiative, bringing together about twenty people living alone to share a meal at the Les Vidrieres restaurant in Tremp, aiming to combat unwanted loneliness.

This pioneering action in Pallars Jussà seeks to offer a space for companionship and social interaction to those living in solitude. The first meal, recently held, gathered approximately 25 people, marking the beginning of a program expected to be consolidated.
The promoters of 'Living Meals' have announced that these gatherings will take place every last Monday of the month, open to all individuals who live alone and wish to share a pleasant time with others in similar circumstances. The only requirement is the willingness to participate and enjoy the company.
The Group of Representatives of the Elderly of Pallars Jussà, the driving force behind this initiative, is composed of members from each elderly association in the region. In municipalities without an association, the town hall designates a representative from among its older residents. This group also organizes other activities framed within the Active and Healthy Aging program of the region, such as the commemoration of the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (June 15) and the International Day of Older Persons (October 1).
