The Department of Agriculture has finished the renovation of the rural road connecting Alzina and Sant Esteve de la Sarga in the Pallars Jussà region this February 2026.

The project, awarded to Asfaltats i Equips de Vialitat SL for 261,745.87 euros, covered a total distance of 3,307 meters. The renovation was divided into three sections, improving the connection from Beniure to the Coll d'Ares junction.
Technical improvements included a new 5-centimeter thick asphalt layer and the construction of triangular ditches to enhance drainage. These actions aim to provide long-term durability and safety for local residents and farmers using the route.
This infrastructure upgrade is part of a strategy to support rural areas, helping to prevent depopulation and reduce forest fire risks by ensuring better accessibility to remote mountain villages and agricultural estates.
