This Thursday, the evaluation and monitoring committees for the Neighborhood and Village Plan projects were established in La Pobla de Segur and La Seu d'Urgell, marking the beginning of significant investment for the urban and social transformation of both localities.
The committees, which will meet annually, will oversee the execution of the various actions included in the projects. In La Seu d'Urgell, the plan, selected by the Generalitat de Catalunya, foresees an investment of 12.5 million euros over the next five years, with a clear focus on revitalizing the historic center.
“
"This is a historic opportunity for La Seu that will involve an investment of nearly 12.5 million euros, a future project that will benefit everyone, marking a before and after for our Historic Center."
The scope of action in La Seu d'Urgell covers the Historic Center, from Avinguda Pau Claris-Plaça Catalunya-Passeig to Camí de Sota Palau. Priorities are centered on seven key axes: housing (1,350,000 euros), commercial revitalization (700,000 euros), institutional reinforcement with the presence of Generalitat departments (2,000,000 euros in addition to 5 million from the Generalitat), urban transformation of the central axis (3,970,000 euros), improvement of municipal facilities (2,250,000 euros), beautification of the center (650,000 euros), and social inclusion (800,000 euros).
Meanwhile, La Pobla de Segur, one of the twenty municipalities benefiting from the first call of the Neighborhood and Village Plan, will receive a contribution of 9.3 million euros for a comprehensive transformation project valued at 12.5 million euros. This funding will enable strategic actions to improve quality of life, strengthen social cohesion, modernize urban spaces, and foster economic and sustainable development.
“
"It will represent a historic and qualitative advance for La Pobla de Segur, allowing us to undertake projects that the municipality and the region needed, doing so in an integral way, considering people, public space, facilities, sustainability… in short, to build a more just, modern, and cohesive municipality."
The 23 actions in La Pobla de Segur are grouped into three axes: physical transformations, ecological transition, and socio-community action, and will be developed over the next five years. The overall objective is to reduce territorial and social inequalities, improve living conditions, and ensure equitable access to basic services and dignified housing.
