The Catalan Government has unveiled a major investment plan for the Pallars Sobirà region, focusing on the N-260 highway and the preservation of Gerri de la Sal monastery.

A new agreement between the Department of Culture, the Town Council of Baix Pallars, and the Bishopric of Urgell ensures the conservation of the Santa Maria de Gerri monastery. The public administration will manage the site for the next 60 years to guarantee its structural maintenance and cultural use.
Regarding transport, Minister Albert Dalmau announced a 260 million euro project for the Pyrenean Axis. Key works include a new 6-kilometer bypass between Xerallo and El Pont de Suert, featuring a 2-kilometer tunnel to bypass the Perves Pass.
In Sort, nearly 4 million euros will be spent on a new roundabout in Montardit and the renovation of two bridges. These improvements are scheduled to be completed before the 2027 Canoeing World Championships.
